Mercury Hall to Close June 2021

Merc Properties, Ltd. announced today that they would be closing Mercury Hall, the popular South Austin event destination at 615 Cardinal Lane off South First Street in South Austin. Mercury Hall sits on almost four acres of land in a whitewashed church moved to Austin from Mercury, TX in the late 1990’s. The space will remain open during current ownership until June 2021. All events between now and June 2021 will proceed as scheduled with the same services and support, according to management. Brides and event planners who reserve the venue between now and the planned closing date are assured that all bookings will be honored.

A Glimpse of a February Wedding at Mercury Hall

February is a wonderful time to get married, especially at Mercury Hall. The weather is cool, the foliage turns a deep green, and the night is still long, which means more time to dance! Most of our property is Evergreens so the foilage stays a deep green year round (think Live Oak trees + bamboo mainly). In the late Fall we plant winter rye grass so the lawn is green as well. Dive into these fantastic photos of Kate & CJ captured by the ever wonderful Mint Photography.

Spring Backyard BBQ Wedding

I’ve always had lofty ideas of inviting over my closest family and friends for a spring backyard BBQ. The adults would chat and sip on their drinks while the kids ran around and played with hula-hoops and bubbles in the grass. The spring flowers would be brightly bloomed and the string lights overhead would make everything glisten. We would all share some BBQ, as the band gets ready to play country music (our friends just so happen to be in a country band) so that we can two-step the night away.

Spring Weddings

It feels like spring has sprung here in Austin, all these 75 degree days are just too beautiful to handle.

I’m ready for sunny skies every day, the smell of freshly blooming flowers when I walk outside, and the warm (but not too warm!) weather.  Not to mention, I’m ready for all the fun weddings!

Spring is one of my favorite seasons for weddings.  You don’t have to search for inspiration -- the fresh flowers are springing up all over the place and I love it when brides take advantage of that!  Bright pinks and salmons and yellows flood the wedding scene in spring, making for statement weddings that you can’t get out of your mind.
